Most units arrange their programmes so as to accommodate working couples. You will get a few weeks’ notice of your first and second appointments, although after that it will depend on how fast your ovaries respond to the drug therapy. Most only require about five or six outpatient appointments. You will, of course, need to take a few days off around the time of egg collection and embryo transfer. The week in which this will occur can usually be predicted soon after treatment starts. Remember also that (hopefully) pregnancy and babies will demand increasing amounts of your time away from work.
