It would be rare for a termination of pregnancy to lead to problems with getting pregnant, but it can happen. It depends, of course, on just what complication occurred at the time. If there was some infection afterwards, then it is possible that this could have damaged your fallopian tubes, which would not only decrease your chances of pregnancy but also increase the chance of any pregnancy being ectopic.

A much rarer complication would be if the uterus were perforated at the time of your operation, which can very rarely lead to complications in a future pregnancy. The way to start is to make sure exactly what happened at your termination and how it was put right. You can contact the hospital or clinic where the termination took place, explain your situation and request their advice (or even a copy of your notes). If the complication was severe infection, it might be helpful to perform a laparoscopy to make sure that your tubes are open, but you could still try for a pregnancy in the meantime.

Finally, remember that there can never be a test to make sure that everything will be OK with a future pregnancy. The vast majority of pregnancies are free of major problems but when they occur they are usually unpredictable.
