NSU infections can be associated with fallopian tube damage. NSU, or non-specific urethritis, was originally a diagnosis made when individuals (mainly men) were infected with an organism which could not be identified. We now know that many of these cases were chlamydial infections, it’s just that the chlamydial bug is very difficult to grow in culture so we didn’t know it was there. If your infection was chlamydial, it is possible that your fallopian tubes were involved and were damaged. However, the chances are that they were not, as this happens in less than a third of properly treated chlamydial infections.
