The reason why it’s usual for only a limited number of cycles of clomiphene to be prescribed is because there is a theoretical risk of increasing your chances of ovarian cancer later in life by repeatedly stimulating your ovaries (although this has never been proved). It’s also worth saying that if it has not worked after six cycles, it is unlikely to do so.
